Srinagar: Rich tributes were paid to prolific writer, Poet and Calligraphist Alhaj Fazil Kashmiri on his 14th Death Anniversary today during an impressive function organized at the Seminar Hall of the Academy which was attended by prominent writers, artists and several others
A press release issued here said that the function was presided over by Prof. Farooq Fayaz, while Rafiq Raz, Secretary JKAACL, Dr. Aziz Hajini and Son of Late Fazil Kashmiri Syed Zeshan Fazil were also in the presidium. The function started with Naat recitation of Renowned Naat Khaawn, Abdul Hassan Farooqi and folk Singer Abdul Gaffar Dar Kanihami presented Kalam-i- Fazil Kashmiri.
In his welcome address, Secretary JKAACL, described Fazil Kashmiri as a Legend who had immense contributions to Kashmiri language and literature. Rafiq Raz presented his paper ‘Kashmiri Culture in the Poetry of Fazil Kashmiri’ n highlighting the impact and influecen of Fazil Kashmiri on the language and the poetics of Kashmir.
"Jenab Fazil Kashmiri is a distinguished stalwart of the contemporary cultural millieu in Kashmiri. He has written some of the most sweetest and beautiful songs which are sung in every nook and corner of Kashmir Valley. He represnets the wholesome ethos of Kashmir's secular culture."
